George’s Fight
As I was generally weaker in my English, she told me that I was “under her radar”. I then arranged frequent consults with her, acquiring tips to better my GP skills. She would sometimes recommend books to read, from which I began to pick up reading.
Under Mrs Tan’s guidance, I was exposed to a great multitude of current affairs. She has continuously tried to make GP more engaging by getting the class to do speeches, paired article sharings and even short debates. Outside of class, she would send relevant news articles with us via phone, allowing us to pick up the habit of gaining general knowledge even outside of class. I can confidently say that my GP has improved by leaps since I have worked closely with her.
Most importantly, I will never forget her passion for teaching. I can vividly remember the time when she called me to clarify certain areas for improvement for one GP assignment. Although on phone, I couldn’t articulate my queries properly, she patiently explained to me the points she wanted to bring across, until I understood it.
“If this is not enough to convince you, she walked me down to the science lab just so she could finish explaining her point in consultation before my next period, chemistry lab lesson.”
Just know that if you happen to be taught by her, you are in good hands.
