Testimonials
“More than a teacher, Mrs Tan is an inspiring figure for many of us.”
Helen (HCI, 2019)
“She is not only highly experienced in teaching GP, but her working experience as a lawyer has also equipped her with outstanding abilities in the discourse, all of which enables her to be a felicitous choice for a general paper tutor.”

My Students’ Fight with GP
George (2019, HCI)
As I was generally weaker in my English, she told me that I was “under her radar”. I then arranged frequent consults with her, acquiring tips to better my GP skills. She would sometimes recommend books to read, from which I began to pick up reading.
Wei Lin and Claudia’s Story (2019, HCI)
She was able to spot my habitual mistakes and gave me concrete advice on how to correct these habits. Mrs Tan is someone who really cared for me and used her experience and resources to help me improve in GP.
What Kang Jun and Tian Ning want to say (2019, HCI) :
Mrs Tan is one of the best teachers you could ask for. Caring, humorous, knowledgeable, engaging rapier-like eyes and wit, she offers top-notch advice for GP and life itself. But she’d make an even better tutor outside of the stifling constraints of the institutionalised classroom.
She’s one of the few teachers whom I know will give phone calls to her students if they can’t meet her face to face, and types out long paragraphs to ensure she makes a point. Mrs Tan customizes the notes to tailor to her students and reminds us constantly of what to look out for.
Natalie (2019, HCI)
In the span of one year that Mrs Tan had taught me, I grew from being afraid of GP to take a genuine interest in the subject, ultimately achieving an excellent grade in A levels. More importantly, the writing skills I acquired as well as my interest in current affairs stayed with me long after the exam was over.
